On the far left, Dr. Maureen Murphy is awarded the Alumni Achievement Award for 2011. Dr. Murphy is a member is our club and is currently Club Secretary. After graduating from Huntingdon, Dr. Murphy earned her Ph.D in chemistry and biochemistry from the University of South Carolina. She subsequently served as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Chicago. A member of the Huntingdon faculty since 1997, she she chaired the Department of Chemistry since 2004.

Dr. John Hardin, Special Projects Archivist for teh Alabama Department of Archives and History spoke to us to day about the Archives and of all the additions and improvements being made.
Our next meeting will be on February 2, 2012 when Anne Tidmores of the Little White House of the Confederacy will be our speaker..
